Fractal Audio AM4 — Compact Amp Modeler & Multi-Effects Processor

Flagship Fractal Audio tone. A complete guitar rig in a compact format.

The Fractal Audio AM4 brings the legendary sound and advanced modeling technology of the Axe-Fx III into a compact, pedalboard-friendly unit built for today's guitarists. Combining authentic amplifier modeling, professional cabinet simulation, and an extensive library of studio-quality effects, the AM4 delivers a complete tonal solution without the size and complexity of a traditional rig.

Whether you're building a portable live setup, recording directly into your DAW, or looking for a powerful all-in-one solution for home and studio use, the AM4 puts exceptional tone and flexibility at your feet.

Authentic Amplifier Modeling

Powered by the same advanced amp modeling algorithms found in the Axe-Fx III, the AM4 recreates the response, dynamics, and feel of real amplifiers with remarkable detail.

Explore an extensive collection of amp models, ranging from pristine cleans and vintage classics to boutique crunch and aggressive modern high-gain tones. Dial in everything from articulate low-tuned rhythm sounds to expressive lead tones, with deep control over your amplifier's response and character.

Advanced DynaCab™ Speaker Simulation

The AM4 features integrated cabinet simulation with DynaCab™ technology, allowing you to customize microphone selection and positioning directly within the cabinet section. It also supports UltraRes™ and standard user impulse responses.

Connect directly to a PA, audio interface, studio monitors, or a full-range speaker system and enjoy consistent, mix-ready tones without requiring a physical amplifier or cabinet.

Professional Effects in One Compact Unit

Beyond amp modeling, the AM4 features an extensive collection of effects derived from Fractal Audio's acclaimed Axe-Fx III platform.

Explore overdrive and distortion models, compressors, delays, reverbs, modulation, pitch effects, wah, EQ, and much more. Build complete virtual rigs and fine-tune your signal chain to suit your playing style, genre, and performance needs.

Each preset supports four effect blocks, with four Scenes and four Channels per block, giving you substantial flexibility for creating and switching between different sounds.

Built for Live Performance

The AM4 features four onboard footswitches with multiple operating modes for navigating presets, switching Scenes, activating effects, accessing the tuner, and controlling amp functions.

Gapless preset switching allows seamless transitions between sounds, making it especially useful for live performances where uninterrupted audio matters.

Its rugged steel chassis, compact footprint, and flexible connectivity make it an excellent choice for musicians who need professional performance capabilities without carrying a full-sized processor.

A Powerful Recording Solution

With its built-in 4×4 USB audio interface, the AM4 supports direct recording, playback, DI capture, and re-amping through your computer.

Create polished guitar tracks without microphones or traditional amp setups, experiment with different tones after recording, and integrate your virtual rig into your preferred DAW workflow.
